Mary/Anyone else considering starting a club.

Use your local press and radio, tell them your plans and that you have had problems finding a venue so would like to try to find a pub with room area blah blah blah etc.

Give your contact details to the newspaper then wait to see which pub contacts you, then do another media piece saying which pub, then which night etc

A really good way to get alot of advertising is to get a laod of L. parahaybana, B. vagans etc slings and give them away free to people joing the club, obviously letting the media know.

If you dont get many spider people going make it an invert club (maybe that would be a better idea to start with), and the far extreme is a reptile and invert club, you might get more people that way.

Most public librarys have a Club and Society board where you can advertise free.

There are several Reptile clubs around the country See if there is one in your area and ask if they mind you giving them some leaflets about your club you may pick up a couple of new members , Some reptile keepers also keep a few T.s Just as like me those who keep lots of T.s also keep a few Reptiles.

Is there anything you need from Invicta when you are up and running in the way of help, i have sent M.I.S.C some caresheets but i know you will have that covered, do you want some copies of our old newsletters ?
Some of our members are going to come up as group to one of your meetings , its the lure of your spider room .

We cant make the meet in two weeks it clashes with a roadshow, but we will definately come up to a future one.

catchy mary. the trick is to make it something catchy and maybe something that has memorable initials. for instence the british tarantula society is always known as the BTS, in text we call ourselves the IAC. EMAC is quite catchy too. hope it all goes well

I am still in the Stone age when it comes to computers.

Matt did our banner, i'm sure he will be able to help you, if notthere is bound to be someone reading this who will know what to do. You will need to Design a E.M.A.C logo first

I'd love to come up with some Kentish folk But-

WE have roadshows Sat & Sun 8th & 9th August, Sat & Sun 22nd & 23rd August, we are attending MISC first meeting as promised on 29th August and we have tables at the Maidstone reptile fair on 30th August.

So 1st & 2nd or 15th & 16th August are my only free dates to come up to EMAC.
