It would only be a one day course, you wound need to speak to Gallon or Smith to find out if it was going to be certified

    ............................

then again anyone wanting to work on spider taxonomy should be certified LOLOL

Well we have the numbers so I think it will happen, so now all we need to do now is sort out a date for next year.

Anyone got any ideas when they would like it to go on? spring summer?

I think enough advanced warning is more important than month or season for us so I can haggle a day or two off work if need be. Is this more likely to be a weekend or weekday?

Now, if you just want someone to suggest a date I'll always say 5 June - Heather and my wedding anniversary - for our fifteenth we went on a spider ID course at a FSC!

Obviously the event would probably need to be scheduled away from other regular BTS events and other big bug fairs as well, huh?

Well, whenever, very excited about the idea and truly wish to be a part of it!!!
So how do you know your tarantula is British?

I'd certainly be interested in doing this. Later in the year would suit me better but I'm happy to go with the majority. As Thomas said, advanced notice would be more important over the specific month.

This hasn't been forgotten. Just that I'm juggling so many other commitments at the moment that arranging another one isn't top of my ever expanding to-do-list

I'm starting to favour a more general spider ID day, which will cover araneomorphs and theraphosids.

                      Cheers,
                      Richard

I have to be honest - my burden of commitments is such that I can't envisage me having the opportunity to organise, arrange, attend and run such a course in the foreseeable future

If or when Ray returns from Exile in Panama this might be back on the cards??

                              All the best,
                              Richard

That is a shame about the course but thanks for replying Richard. It seems there are a few members interested in this sort of thing so if we can't get a course organised then how about a few short workshop type articles in the BTS journal explaining the basics?
