  • Identification Question

So far nobody on the American forums, nor the dealers that started the name have been able to provide any help. I'm trying to figure out something about the so called "burdundy goliaths." The adult pictures I have seen look just like Theraphosa blondi. The young look like T. apophysis. Is there any way to tell if an adult female is T. apophysis, T. blondi, or this so-called new species? Also, is there a way to differentiate between younger T. apophysis and the new "burgundy goliaths?" Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has access to the original 1991 paper describing Theraphosa apophysis, I'd love to get a .pdf copy.

    I have 'burgundy' and apophysis.

The burgundy are VERY similar in looks, slight build, long legs, well I say 'slight build' as compared to my blondi. The lge juve one is a lot similar to my juve male apo. As far as I can see the apo has a purple sheen and the burgundy has a red sheen and red setae on the legs.

Needs maybe Ray or Richard to come in here I think.
