  • Gramostola spatulata or not?

Okay I've been reading the older posts discussing the classification and reclassification of the many different types into G.roesa with colour differences stuck onto the end for whatever reason.

Now I would like to re-open the discussion as I have a twelve year old G.spatulata (Chilean beautiful in the common tongue) which is twelve year old. Now my little spider is only 3.5-4" legspan and is quite docile, but, (and this is a big but in my opinion!) she is a lot smaller than the G.Rosea that I recently acquired. Now I will concede that they are quite similar to look at when apart but next to each other there are differences in the sheen, as well as the size.

I have always known this spider as G.spatulata as it was sold under that tag with the common name of "chilean beautiful".

After twelve years and only recently having learned of the reclassification I am now wondering how the hell I look for a suitable mate for her?
"I am never wrong! Only ever in a position to learn something new!"
