  • reaction to urticating hairs

I have not had a reaction to a T's hairs in the past 9 years but I have recently rehomed three T's and had a burning sensation in my sinuses (feels like behind my eyes) with excessive mucus production and a burning itchy throat, as well as a bloodshot sore eye! all symptoms lasted for two days and then abated. I have read that it is a cumulative response of the body to the hairs.
I was wondering if anybody knows whether mature spiders hairs are more potent than a juvies?
Also what are other people's reactions to the hairs?

Unlucky mate, sounds nasty especially if it affected your eyes. If it hasn't cleared up I would get that seen to asap. I seem to be quite lucky and don't seem very sensitive them (even T. blondi!). The worst I had was a very mild itch on my palm after handling a avic exuvium.
