Venezeulan bird spider

Hi, can anyone furbish me with imformation on the Venezeulan tarantula
rhytidicolus structor?
Apart from a description on its laybrinth by the entomologist Simon way
back in the 1880's, i have only come across it in 'Mysterious Senses' by
Vitus B. Droscher 1964.
I was fascinated with the description in the above book on its defensive
technique against predatory wasps.
I would appreciate any updated imformation on this subject, cheers, alan

Hi Alan. The spider is not a "true" tarantula but a mygalomorph belonging in another family. Maybe this will help to narrow down your search for info on the biology of this species.

Hi Soren, you found more than i did mate!! That is very interesting, i suspect it's a large trapdoor spider.
