  • Feeding

My Burgundy Goliath (male) has reached or well on its way to maturity, I think it will be sexually active soon.
The question i have is this: I am aware when this stage is reached they do not eat as much as females, so how much and how often should I feed it.
I have a Pink Foot Goliath female and eating is not a problem for her.
    Any suggestions.........

I only fed my MM (unidentified) once a week and cleared the uneaten fodder 24 hours later. It was a rare occassion when he did eat and then only the odd cricket. Feed your male as normal, but if he is refusing food remove it before it annoys him too much.
The males are I assume only taking in what they must, and protecting their palp bulbs (where the sperm is stored) as they use these to catch prey and hold it to their fangs and mouth. if the prey were to damage a palp or bulb (bulb at the end of a MM's palp) then the male would not be able to breed, so feeding is only done when necessary. Hope this helps.
