  • I want an Avic ..but i dont know which one..

I know the one i want, but im not sure what species it is..

Its very dark, basically like a big ball of long fur and little white dots on the tip of each hair...

I did see one in a pet shop, labled up as a Peru Purple Pink Toe but looking at pics on the internet, im not sure if it is?

The only one i can see thats close is this :

Moderators Note: Please be aware that the BTS does not advise handling of tarantulas and operates a no handling policy for the good of the spider and the handler. Although intentional handling is shown here, this is a picture that indicates a requirement for a species ID, therefore i shall let it remain for now... Colin

    I think its an Avic.Metallica?

Anyone know which one i am after? perhaps it is the Peru purple pink toe? i really am not sure. Also where i could purchase one from?

    thanks
    Ryan

it looks like Avicularia Metallica to me, there apears to be an almost metalic greeny blue sheen to the carapace.

It looks like what is being sold as A. sp. "metallica" to me, athough the A. sp. "Kwitara" are very similar in appearance.

        A. sp. "Peru purple" have a noticable lilac colouring to the carapace with longer reddish tipped setae.

Give me all your Avics !!!!!

They are still trading Ryan, an e mail was sent out for all with existing orders saying that trading would begin again on the 23/11/09.
