Just to make everyone aware that a spider I posted to Roy and Abi via RMSD arrived a day late (Macrothele gigas).
Good job I put a heat pack in.
The spid arrived Ok but even RMSD is not certain to get there the next day as I nearly found out to the poor spiders cost. With the cold weather coming,it is something to think about before posting me thinks.
    So just be careful guys.
I have filled out a claim form but considering the spider could have perished......does not mean much really.

You're unlucky there Paul, during the postal strike, I posted out and received 5 rmsd's having been assured by the main post office that rmsd was operating normal, and I have to say that all of mine both received and sent, arrived in good time. One actually arrived at 9am, and the rest all around the 10-11am mark, which was actually earlier than I've usually received them when the post is working normally. Maybe it's down to deliveries in specific areas.

I think you're probably wise even with 30hr+ heat packs, it's still going to be a risk. Funnily enough, we had a parcel delivered at mid-day today, and we asked why they were delivering today, and postie said it was because of the build up in parcels, they do a Sunday Morn, to clear them, so busy already.
