    hi all im new to the BTS
    but i have a Haitian Brown Tarantula and i was wondering how big will it grow to.?
    I no its ment to be a bird eater.

    i also have a Mexican Red-Knee (Brachypelma smithi). spiderling... i love him/her i dont no yet

    p.s it gone a bright blue
    is this an idea of if it is a male or female?

    I think Haitian Brown's grow fairly large, looking at between 7 & 9 inches legspan I think.

    If the colour change you're referring to is in the Red Knee, does it have its adult colours yet? Often in individuals that don't have colouration yet, they colour goes a lot darker when they are coming up to a molt, however this is not normally a bright blue. But no, it doesn't have mean anything to do with its sex.

      well young P cancerides are a lovely blue, regardless of sex...darker than A. versicolor slings, and lacking the striping, but i think equally as nice to look at.
      i love their confident behaviour and feisty personalities as well!
      watching them change as they grow is a treat, and some adults have purple sheens on their femurs and a purple pattern on their carapaces as well. stunning and underrated!
