  • Two sisters moult

One of my T. Blondi sisters moulted last night, expecting the other to follow suit in the next couple of days, they're from an Aug 08 eggsac, and have done really well, this one must have somewhere around 7-8" ls. their staple diet has been Dubia Roaches, for about the last year.

HI Linda, sorry I've not been in touch for ages. I'll send you an email soon. Great to see they're coming along so nicely. The one I got at the BTS show moulted last night and is already about 4 inches!

Come on Vincent, take the plunge, I'm sure your more than capable of looking after one beautifully

Thanks Ian & Dee, I'm expecting her sister to moult within the next 24 hours, and she's just launched herself into her bowl of water, which is a sign she's ready, will keep you all posted.

Also got 2 big females ready to moult, so it's a busy time.

Craig, glad yours is coming along nicely,

                Hi Vincent, well that's obviously dependant on the size of the T. We've got a few Theraphosas and they are intanks that range from a cricket box for the first to third instar, then upwards, 8" x 6" x 6", 12" x 8" x 8", 12"x12"x12" and the bigger ones in 18" x 10" x 10" or 18" x 12" x 10" , we've found these satisfactory for them.

UPDATE, the Apophysis sister moulted last night, and the Blondi sister moulted this morning, quick and un-eventful . The first two pics are of two of my other big girls, and I think they'll be going into pre-moult in the next month or so, the second two are the Apophysis sister that moulted yesterday, and the Blondi sister that moulted this morning, so it's been a busy weekend.

Thankyou Ian & Aaron, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Theraphosas, they are lovely T's, they grow quickly, and make excellent display spiders as most of mine spend lots of time out in the open.
