Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this thread, but it is spider related and hopefully someone will answer without laughing!!
I'm setting up an old fish tank for a chaco gold knee, instead of a heat mat under the tank would it be ok to bury an aquatic heater under a piece of slate at one end of the aquarium so s/he has a warm side and a cooler side? Thank you in advance for all and any replies.

Hi Andrew, welcome to the forum, not a good idea putting heaters inside tanks for T's or using heatmats underneath them, you need to place a heat mat on the outside of the tank, either on the side or back, and aim to keep the temp in the 22-25c range.
