Mark Harrison...i agree, but don't neglect reduncus, pulcher and cambridgei! they are wonderful spiders!!! each beautiful in its own way
and cambridgei gets extra points for being one of the only PROPERLY green tarantulas!

another thing that Stromatopelma, Heteroscodra and Psalmopoeus have in their favour is that they, unlike certain other genera (Aphonopelma) that certain muppets (me) collect, they are SMALL IN NUMBER OF SPECIES AND PRETTY EASILY ATTAINABLE

that is a great point! everyone should own a green t or two. even better than the P. cambridgei is the Poecilotheria rufilata. just another option.

Nicola: no more Avics for me, i'll let Jackie do that and admire hers when i visit hehe...i have the worse luck with them, the exceptions being the "peru purple" and the "metallica" i have now...

Darrell: maybe it's that i don't particularly like Peekies, but rufilata, while green, is nothing at all like the green of a cambridgei :P

Well it's been a couple of months since I started this thread and I'm no further forward...lol one thing I forgot to mention though is this specimen I've seen was in a terrestrial enclosure...!! If they are arboreal I though it a little odd it was on there and it seems quite happy to be in there as it's just nicely hunkered in a corner in a psuedo "pokie" stance....! anyone shed any light...? has it been misnamed....? next time I go into the shop if it's still there I'll see if I can get a photo...!
