VB4 we have updated

Dear all
I have just completed stage 1 of the BTS forum upgrade, we are currently just looking for bugs and problems with permissions etc.

Lots on new features and plenty of the old ones still in use. The Classifieds will be updated soon, but work without the forum theme on them.

Please report any problems direct to me.

All in all a little quicker loading and refreshing, looks quite clean and fresh too.


one litle niggle for me is in "quick links" there is no "todays posts" which was a handy tool to look back on "heated/controversial posts" throughout the day
The "new posts" tab will bring up all fresh additions, once you have read a post it will dissapear from this section.
Just a nice little tab to keep things in one area.

Colin under quick links you can bring up all your subcribed threads... the whats new is handy though....

Tried that, does not work...

OK updates tonight:

Chat room fixed and working remote auth resumed
Home page layout fixed and articles will be added shortly
Classifieds updated and integrated with forum

To do:
Check downloads permissions in all usergroups
Add content to CMS and give usergroups access to publish


So much fun... now where's the beer and tablets

click on the home page link and you'll see the recent posts listed on the right hand side..

All good, the "what's new" gadget does the job

"new posts" on VB just shows new threads you haven't read yet and it's nice to have a button to press to show the days threads (read and unread) so that you dont have to go through all the different forums to find them again.

well this will take some getting used to, looking good though, well done mark. i hope one day i can find the time to try and get our club website looking better. i am a lil confuzled by the website header, i always thought it was est 1985 not 1984, hence this year being 25th anniversary?

Sure when I have the time I would be happy to help you with the site.

Ok to avoid confusion the society was founded in 84 with it's roots back even further as the tarantula federation.

This is our 25th exhibition the societys 25th was last year.

However as there has always been a bit of confusion over point. It is easier to celebrate 25 years in May at the show.

I am sure Ray Hale will correct me if I am wrong lol.
