  • Tarantula Tattoo

I have a few tattoos already but I really want a new one. I am thinking of getting a P.regalis on my fore arm. (I once saw a guy with one when I was in malta.). I was just wondering if any members had a spider tattoo and willing to share some pictures....

I don't have any tattoos, but would be tempted with the right tarantula and pose, as you have to get it perfect, otherwise it'll look odd, or inaccurate forever!

My girlfriend has a tattoo of a gecko on her forearm, but it only has 3 toes on each foot, which I take great glee in pointing out to her!

I'm sure it's ok to 'plug' away, but as is usually obligatory with these things, therefore this thread is useless without pics!

Just been and aquired (ahem) these from elsewhere to start the "picture" ball rolling for Mark (and my commision )

Marks work doesn't just cover only realism and accuracy, there's a distinct theme for the unusual in some cases too

                Uv ink ...... cracking eh???

That is excellent! Daylight looks like a nasty burn scar, but under UV light you just light up!

Maybe a combination of both normal ink and UV ink could look amazing. Two tattoos for the price of one

Once healed the tattoo is invisible that picture was taken just after it was done.

There are no signs of it now only under black light.

                    Cheers

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I know that I am having a P.regalis on my forearm. The only trouble is I can not find a decent picture of one standing "pokie"... All google images shows is them being held or pictures when they are walking.....

If anyone has a nice full picture of a regalis standing "pokie" then I would appreciate it. I am booked in at the tattooist on sept 4, and yes tha'ts the wait. But he is a famous artist. I am not giving names cos I don't like.

PS. just to clarify, by "standing pokie", I mean the way they stand 4 legs together in front and 4 behind, so they look long and narrow, no legs off to the side...

I am sure you pokie owners know what i mean.

I am also thinkin about havin another spider tattoo done at some point but not sure what T to have done a P.metallica or B.boehmei
I have 1 spider on my shoulder its been there a while and if i remember correctly it was a pic off 1 of the journals a fair few yrs ago there is another tattoo thread on here with a pic of it in.
Well i'm waffling now but what i was gonna say is closest pics i've got is these 2 more recent ones

and this 1 but was with an older cam and not as clear and didnt get the ends of her legs

she's not the easiest T to take pics of lol

With the artistic "talent" you have to possess to be a tattoo artist then the position of the spider could easily be drawn up by the tattooist and then just the colour reference taken from an image.

Artists (like Mark) could probably draw a spider outline in their sleep, being a hobbyist as well would be an advantage to use knowledge of the physical make up of a spider to aid the design of the tattoo.

In my opinion (from designing tattoos for people in the past) the tattooists of todays standards don't need a "perfect" stencil to copy from anymore, a lot of the work is just refering to images for colour / texture / patternation.
