  • post molt question

    Hi everyone.
My G. rosie has just molted for the first time since I've had her (very interesting!).
But I'm a bit concerned that after 3 days she seems very sluggish and spends alot of time simply laying flat with her legs outstretched. is this something to worry about?
Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer.

All spiders are sluggish after a moult the larger they get the more time it takes for them to recover.

Just make sure there is fresh water available and hold off feeding for 4-5 days for slings / small juvs and anything up to a week for adults.

The laying flat on the substrate is her stretching into her new skin (I have a pic of my G.rosea doing it somewhere ) nothing to worry about its all part of this strange hobby we are in lol.

        Many thanks Chris.
As this is my first spider I was just a little worried! She also decided to molt on her side which left me thinking she was really unwell. As you say, a strange hobby indeed. I've a lot to learn about Ts yet...
