  • Acanthognathus francki info request

My Acanthognathus francki shed last week and I just noticed while feeding it that it appears to be a mature male . Well it's got his boxing gloves . Don't even know if these are supposed to have hook .

So if anyone could direct me to some info on these or any other from the genus as info seems to be a bit scarce online .

All I seem to find is pictures and for sale threads . I've just been in touch with Gareth at PoP and he's got a female which I've ordered . He thinks they're easy to breed but I'd like to find more detailed info so I can read up on them a bit more as I think they're a great genus as they seem to be (from a personal point of view taking in their appearance and movement style) half true and half T .

Acanthognathus is an ant genus, the name of the nemesiid spider genus is Acanthogonatus, try using this name when searching. And they are neither half "T" nor "true" (=araneomorph), they are mygalomorphs (Mygalomorphae = spider infraorder containing "reserved" families of spiders including Theraphosidae).

having thought about it for a second...it makes a rather large difference...no idea what Acantho means, but gonatus and gnathus...isn't the first one gonads and the second teeth? haha slightly different.
