  • What are these publications- Arachnol. Anz. & Arachnol. Mag?

    Hello all!

I've noticed while looking through the World Spider Catalog bibliography that a lot of taxonomic material (in German) is published in the journals "Arachnol. Anz." & "Arachnol. Mag" however I can't find a full unabbreviated journal name. What is the full title of these publications? Is there some place that carries back issues? I will be attempting to use my local libraries interlibrary loan program to acquire material on Theraphosa apophysis and I'm sure the full publication title would help tremendously. Besides, these publications are a great mystery to me and I would like to know more about what they are (or were), who published them, etc.

    Thanks in advance!

I found the answers to my own questions. I'll post the info for anyone else that might need to know.

    Arachnol. Mag = Arachnologisches Magazin
The association journal of the Deutsche Arachnologische Gesellschaft e.V. (DeArGe e.V.) from 1995 - 2004. Now called "ARACHNE."

    Arachnol. Anz.- Arachnologischer Anzeiger
Published from 1990 to early 1993 by Andreas Tinter. If anyone knows of where to get copies of back issues, please shoot me a message. This was all the info I could find.

      Hi Lonnie,
Arachnol. Mag = Arachnologisches Magazin. However this is not the same publication as "Arachne", and was produced by a different person/group entirely.

Arachnologisches Magazin was produced by Robert Samm and appeared to be subsumed into "Tarantulas of the World", at least the two publications were sharing articles before A.M. stopped being produced.

      Cheers,
      Richard

Thanks Richard and Stuart for your replies. That pretty much fills in all the gaps for these two publications.
