  • help needed urgent!

hi i got a new t last week from tss, all week she has been looking a bit iffy, always curled up but when i went to check her she would wander of and was walking fine and going to her water ( i never saw her drink tho) she would be curled up in her hide, later she would be somewhere else in the tank so was moving about, she has not eaten. today she was looking a bit worse i went to check and when she walked she kept collapsing, i mede an icu as fast as i could but could not find my copy of tarantula keepers guide and seen as this is first time ive actualy had to use one i dont know if its right. i got a tub put air holes init moist tissue on bottom t in middle dry tissue on top, is this right. i got home from work and she still looks bad, her legs dont work right she was shuffling when she tried to walk, i managed to get a pipet so am going to try drop some water in her mouth in case its dehidration, i cant do it now, i have to rush out for a mock driving test and am already running late typing this. any help would be very gratefull. i dont think its broken legs she was walking fine yesterday i pick her up to put her in icu and she was trying to struggl just dint have the strenght.

hi there mark im no expert but all i know is the icu should have clean tissue quite a few layers in the bottom then soak with sterile water at room temp then gentley squeeze out excess water. then place your t inside and find somewhere warm dark and quiet. you should have 2 icu's prepared so that if your t's not better after 24 hours you can move her/him to the fresh icu so that way you can leave the t for another 24 hours if need be. but all being well the first session should do the trick i hope this helps mark. if i've missed something im sure someone with more experience will fill you in good luck mate.

Read http://people.ucalgary.ca/~schultz/icu10.html. And, I hope you finally found your copy of the Guide!

Edit: Oops! Sorry to hear that she's apparently dead. We can't win them all. Don't feel too bad. You did your best.
