Anyone else keep getting logged out?

Every time I write a big reply to a thread it wont post and asks me to log in again.

I just wrote a massive update on my collection and it wouldnt post, asked me to log in again and I lost the whole thing. Most annoying - any idea's on how to stop this?

No time to write it out again now, but will be back with an update tomorrow

Hi Joanna,

When you log in there is a tick box that you can tick that says keep me logged in. I had the same problem till I ticked this and then if you really have to log out then use the logout link at the top right hand corner to logout. I tended to find that if I logged in without doing that then I stood a chance of losing the ability to post long replies also on occasions.

Joanna it used to happen to me all the time because Im a very slow typer one finger one thought

As Richard says if you tick the little "remember me box" before you log in you wont get kicked out of the forum.

ah, see i have that box ticked, but was still getting booted off last night! it's a mystery lol x

Oh well it may have been down for maintainance, I do get that on occasions with the site and it is often accompanied by the inability to navigate away from pages. But ticking the box is definately a first step for anyone that is getting logged out too quickly.

Personally I have never and any issues as far as being logged out, however I will add these suggestions to help those having issues.

1st: As mentioned above try the keep me logged in check box.

2nd: make sure your browser are set to except cookies and keep them, this is how you are kept in the forum and allows you to drift from forum to forum, classifieds to gallery without having to log back in. (this is the cause of 99% of this problem)

3rd: make sure you update your browsers to the latest versions, Microsofts IE is a normally well behind in the latest web technologies and or go of on there own as far interpreting html, css and such techy babble things. But IE8 works great here.

Also during patch, security and software updates and message will display saying "sorry down for maintenace" I generally apply such things as soon as there are released as for some reason we are a constant target for hackers and spambots...

If you have any issues regarding veiwing this forum, please drop me a pm, with what browser you are using, and I can let you know if there problems with that version.

I use both Firefox, IE8, Safari with no propblems at all, although there are some template issues on the front page with the latest Mozilla Firefox browser.
