BTS Annual General Meeting (AGM) January 15th 2011

Hi everyone just a quick note to inform you all that the BTS AGM is nearly upon us.
Date: Saturday 15th January 2011
Venue: St Pauls Church, Harmens Water, Bracknell
Time : 3.00pm

Prior to the meeting is a BTS Committee Meeting but we will ensure there is someone around to meet anyone who turns up. Bear in mind that it is a church and the doors are kept locked ( a sad world ). So if you do intend to come please try and let me know by PM or on the forum.

The AGM lasts 2 hours during which the committee read out their reports for the year and there is then an open forum where you may ask the committee any questions regarding the running of the club, put forward any ideas or just generally chat.

The AGM is open to current BTS members ONLY ( Nows your chance to join...or renew )

I must point out that there are no spiders for sale at the AGM but we would love some of you to attend just to show you whats involved in the running of the club.

We cant guarantee you a thrill filled afternoon but we can promise you a warm welcome and a good cuppa ( with biscuits ).

For those of us that can't attend the AGM can we at least have a copy of the minutes? I know they used to be published in the journal and that proved to be unpopular but how about puting them on an A4 sheet of paper and sticking it in with the next journal or even just posting them up in the members section of the forum?

BTS Minutes AGM

Hi Craig, as you said we did publish them in the journal until everyone moaned that we were taking up valuable space that could be used for more interesting stuff.

Putting them in the journals as an A4 sheet is unfortunatly not faesable as the journals are enveloped and sent out by the printers. To ask them to add sheets in would double the cost of their input and ultimatly this would reflect on the membership fees........the other downside to this is of course if no one turns up to the AGM ( like last years) then we end up reading our reports out to an empty room thus making the minutes rather dull.

....however..................all is not lost. I like your point about putting them up on the members site.

In fact I like it so much thats what we will do with the next lot of AGM minutes. I will consult with Mark and get a page sorted out on the members site where you can download them

I would also add that if you PM me I will gladly send you a copy of the minutes by e-mail.

One other thing. Any member as the right to send questions or ideas to me to be forwarded at the AGM and we WILL table them and reply to them.

The BTS AGM Minutes will be posted up on line ( on the members site) as soon as Angela has typed them up. I will post an announcement when they are up

Hands up here Craig. I completly forgot. Its hectic at the moment at work and with the show. Its an age thing Im afraid. You have it all to come mate.

The 2012 AGM will be on the Sunday after the BTS Lectures in Bristol. We are trying to arrange the room, all BTS members are welcome to attend.
Membership cards my be requested.
