  • Care of Nymps

The following is part of an article i wrote for the BTS journal no 19/2.

As there will be Nymphs for sale at the BTS Exhibition, i thought it might be an idea if peoples minds were refreshed on thier care before they have a chance to buy some on Sunday.

    Care of Nymphs

Some dealers are now selling nymph stage 2 , instead of spiderlings (or sometimes as spiderlings), some people frown upon this but sometimes the price also goes down a considerable bit making it worthwhile to buy them.

To care for the nymphs place some peat or vermiculite in the bottom of a clean cricket tub, add some folded or crumpled kitchen paper, add the nymphs, put on the lid (be careful there are no small ventilation holes in the tub so the emerging spiderlings do not escape), and place in the tank of a spider of the same species or similar species till the spiderlings emerge.

2 Days after the spiderlings have emerged pot them on into their new homes.
