  • GBB Molt

    Hi all

I have just experienced my first molt with my GBB. He is still very young and small (although now bigger!) and thankfully all went well Was just wondering when the ideal time to feed him again would be? He molted yesterday morning (31 July) and didn't eat 7 days prior to molting.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Emma.

    Hi,

after molt it takes a couple of days to dry the new skin, depending on the size of the spider how many days you should wait (for the bigger ones take longer). At adults we usually wait a week and 4-5 days for juvies and slings, but if you wait a week its good too.

Somewhere in the picture section there are some pix of my GBB molting on her web at the top of her enclosure thank god everything went ok and she is now one quick mean eating machine
As has been said most newly molted spiders will be ok without a first meal for a week although if I remember right keep your fingers well out the way when you do drop in that first prey item lol.
