It is clearly a brown tarantula. That was easy.

        Hi
firstly I am pretty sure most of those 22 views all kinda thought they know what it might be, however "clearly a brown spider" is probably the best your going to get. lol
Its clearly in need of a molt, and as such just looks like a manky old T,blondi which incidentally it could well be

can you tell us where you got to from and leg span etc. perhaps a pic straight down from the top, so we can see the shape of the carapace a little better.

        Cheers
        Mark

I dont think that a less blurry picture would help YOU in any way.
Forget trying to i.d. 'Ts' & stick to the funnies as you seem moore adept at that.

Thanks Mark, your discription of my tarantula as a manky old T,blondi, isnt what i would of exspected.
dont most, if not all tarantulas that are comeing up to a moult look a bit tatty?
As for posting more pictures up,i dont think so!all i seem to have goten is derogatory remarks.

Martin there is no need for rudeness you are being overly defensive here. I have not made any derogatory remarks. It is a brown tarantula and a less blurry picture is needed.
Now pick your dummy up and have a read of this as it may help if it is a Theraphosa sp. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/12...osa-stirmi.pdf

                    Who rattled his cage ?
If this is the sort of attitude everyones getting, i would suggest that everyone just ignores him and hopefully he'll go away.

Really a clearer picture should be posted if you're looking for an ID. Having said that, from what I can see I'd venture a guess at Megaphobema velvetosoma.

                        Ps. relax

Ok then ... it seems this defensive response technique is becoming rife over a majority of the forums (of which we here don't want to stoop down to)
A bit of fun is just that ..... it's not a personal attack.

Martin ... in fairness .... ID'ing from a picture of perfect quality is a little hit and miss, if you could get some clear shots (overhead, side, and ventral) and give some background to the size /proportions there would be a little more to go on.

As an aside all the people who have replied have more than enough taxonomic experience each to give a reasonably accurate ID if presented with sufficient data.
Don't forget to learn what you can, when you can, where you can.
