Hi all I have a juvi Costa Rican Tiger rump which I've had for about 3 and a bit months. When I first got it, it was always out unless it saw me then ran for the flower pot hide lol, and it webbed loads. Well then it had completely blocked it's hide up and was in there for a month had nothing to eat, so I wanted to make sure it was alive so I looked, I know maybe i shouldn't had but I wanted to put my mind at rest, n e way sure enough it was alive and the same night completely blocked it's hide up with nothing to eat, it has now been more than a month and still no sign of it, is this normal? I know Ts can go months without food but I worry lol
I always make sure there's fresh water in the bowl too

Nothing to worry about Sarah. If it's blocked it's hide up, not once but twice it wants to be hidden away for a reason. Quite possibly it will be preparing itself for a moult, especially if it has been off its food so best just to leave it until it comes back out itself whenever that may be (days/weeks or possibly months). Just keep doing what your doing with the fresh water in the bowl.

Dont forget that for a spider not to eat for a few months is like you missing breakfast on one day.
I wouldnt start to worry until 8-10 months has passed
I have slings that have only eaten once since easter and a juv that hasnt eaten since late May . . . no big deal, they will eat when they are ready.

My T has now taken a turn for the worse, I found it in a death curl, I'm unsure if it's dead but I've put it in ICU any way just incase. I managed to have a closer look for signs of being a mature male and can't see any hooks or any thing to suggest it's a mature male. If no improvement by tommorow, my guess it's dead
