  • Moving some GBB's

I had to move a few GBB's today and thought that I would take a few photos while doing it.
All the spiders were easy to move as I lifted them while they were on their old piece of bark with webbing.
Total time taken from putting the substrate in the containers to putting them on the shelves was about 15 minutes, so no problems encountered

    Getting ready

My essentials for moving spiders. Long and short tweezers, chop stick and cut down Coke bottle (for any escapee's)

    First one moved

All done and on the shelf (next to some OBT's)

Ive had them for about 5 years, rubbish things with metal lids. I only use them if im stuck and cant find anything else to hand.
ASDA do a similar thing but slightly larger and made of plastic for £1. I have about 15 in use now and the missus is getting me another 12 tomorrow when she does the weekly shop. They are great for arborial slings and juvs etc, I have 12 irminia slings going in them

Could try this place: http://www.ampulla.co.uk/SCREW-TOP-J...00ML-/c-1-131/ I've not used them yet but I'll be ordering a few large plastic sweet jars etc this month and they seem to have a pretty impressive selection.

There is also this place: http://www.shcweb.co.uk/eshop/sectio...b1fcfed5972950 which I have used and service was fine from them, got a mix of sizes no problem, there is a min spend of a fiver plus postage (sliding scale by weight).

Yeah I'd used SHCWeb.co.uk after struggling to find smaller plastic tubes/pots at a sensible price.

Been looking for big plastic sweet jars and given up on trying to scrounge them from the local newsagents, ampulla.co.uk have them and a lot of other handy jars/tubs etc in a big range of sizes (biggest sweet jar they do is 4.4ltr capacity for under £2), I just threw a 8 into the basket to check the postage -works out steeper than SHCWeb for small orders, but I can't find the big sweet jars elsewhere and it is cheaper once you bunch a few into a single order (if you get my drift).
