A bit of advice . . . . . . GET RID OF THE GEL NOW ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Tarantulas mouth parts are not designed to get the water from gel like insects.
Insects have biting mandibles whereas spiders are basically filter feeders.
Why oh why do shops insist on selling this junk ?

Dump the gel in the bin or use it for your feeder insects and get a shallow bowl filled with water for the tarantulas.

Pet shops do my head in! Haven't found a decent one yet who can give complete accurate info, I normally advise them!!

guy at the pet shop advised me to get it, said he uses it an its cleaner etcetc. the tub i get evan has a tarantula on the label

i always used water till i moved here ( bradford) 6 month ago, the pet shop is over the road n i never used it till i moved in

it seems a good shop, i got many t's from them n their always healthy.....
.. damn, ill get it changed straight away

Do them a favour and pop over there and educate them. If it wasn't for their food intake their T's would more than likely be dead from dehydration!!

What brand of bug Gel is it with a T on it! Honestly, sounds like they need educating too!!

yeah i was gunna do that, let them no whats been said. i dont know the brand but i can find out.
all my t's have water again now, just a stupid mistake from following evidently bad advice.

i will say as this is my pic thread and i have pics i have not got round to puting up yet... if anyone spots gel in any future pics it will be an old pic, i use water again.
