I will admit I have asked some really simple questions that probably could have been resolved with a bit of a search. However I prefer the personal responses to my questions and maybe other newbies are the same. Also, the only stupid questions are the ones that are not asked..

I think my original post got out of hand and caused a discussion that did not need to be had. I will just add that only sensible people ask the stupid questions. The stupid people sit back thinking they are intelligent.

I think a good point to be drawn from these sort of debates is to keep in mind that "we" are a community and any community is rooted in the relationships formed between its members. Yes we can all go and search out pre-written information and that should always be our first task. But we still need to engage with each other to form the relationships that bind the community together, regardless of whether that is as simple as giving a newcomer a bit of reassurance/confirmation that they have the right information or if it is reviewing swathes of detailed complex research findings.

I've found that actually having a living creature depending on me for everything, when I'm not sure I understand all of its motivations, is so stressful, I've been extremely glad of people answering my numpty questions. So thanks everyone who's helped. I hope you can cope with more! Xoxox

            Re: Just having a rant.....

I did as much homework as I could before getting my first T, but then, I still ask stupid questions which have a really obvious answer at times, but then, no body is a true 'expert' on anything, people always have to learn.

I agree with the OP though, you wouldn't buy a house and then think 'So, how much will cost to run this place?', you'd do your homework. I guess people think, it's just a spider, how hard can it be?
