My mexican redknee tarantula has really settled in. The exo-terra glass 30x30x30 terrarium was a good investment, though when she tries to climb the glass sides she always falls off! The substrate has provided adequate, or a little too much humidity. She's been basking herself against the heat mat. She has a massive apetite for mealworms (regular), she eats three or four a week (on the first week I got her she ate twice that much, though that's probably because she had moulted the week before I got her). I've been noticing these threads of sticky silk she's been making, and now she's gone into her little cave at last and hasn't come out. She's not been making any burrows into the three inches of potting compost, desert sand and live moss yet. I could make it a little deeper, but too much would mean an avalanche everytime I opened the front doors. Gonna buy her some treats, some black field crickets and some cork bark.
