  • Can Ts communicate ?

Hello. This may seem like a bizarre question, and I might end up looking like a complete prat for asking, but,I have waited 3 weeks now before doing so.So here goes.I have my G Pulchripes sling ( legspan approx 5cm ) which I have happily owned since May,and resides happily in her plastic viv...I then purchased my B smithi sling ( less than a cm ) around 3 weeks ago,who seems absolutely happy in his slightly larger tub than supplied by the seller.I have both on the same heat mat ( Don't worry....they both have the adequate "cool" area if they wish to chill)...The G Pulchripes seems to be happy to stay beside the B smithi sling,as if it knows it's there, and the B smithi seems to be happy to do the same.I've actually moved the tanks around a little, and both seem to keep finding one another !!?? At this moment, they are both "up" looking(?) at one another !!? I sincerely hope that someone may be able to help me out here,as even my wife has noticed this behaviour.Like I said,I'll probably end up looking like a complete EJIT for asking, but both Ts are REALLY happy, and I just thought I'd ask.Kind regards.Paul.

By REALLY happy,I meant that my slings seem to be content. They are eating, and moulting as normal without any problems....Sorry if I come across as being over emotional with regards to my slings.

My first T was a B. Verdezi, who took to hiding, popping her head out and if I came over, hiding again. She's now next to an L. Parayabana, who at first, would sit out and never hide.

The LP had a moult a few weeks ago and now, she's exactly like the B Verdezi, hiding and running away if I say hello.

I swear they talk to each other when I'm not there (i.e. Toy Story) and the B Verdezi is a bad influence!

Mating behaviour would be a good indication of some sort of communication, some spiders have some strange ways of making them selfs known check out these little bad boys!!

or papers like this are a good read..http://www.peckhamia.com/hosted/Rich...%20spiders.pdf

I guess it all depends on how you want to define the word communication in relation to the patterns of behaviour you see, and if your prepared to move away from the human idea of Com's and look at it from a different view point,,i would say there are some complex behavioural patters whether its communication or not and how this reflects on your T's having a good old chin wag,,i guess you can make up your own mind lol
