  • Phlogius yamia...what is it?

I have a tarantula that came in a lot with others I wanted but it is quite an enigma. It was described to me as Phlogius yamia. I can find hardly anything about it other than an article in "Invertebrates" magazine describing a mating of it and it being from Africa. I am in the US and the seller said that was all he knew and that it was being called Phlogius yamia in Europe. Any idea of what normally passes as Phlogius yamia? It is one of the little brown jobbers that has a Selenocosmia look to it. It is about 4-5 cm and not growing very quickly from what I have seen. It is a burrower too.

I think the previous owner has either got mixed up or there has been some kind of misunderstanding. Yamia is a now defunct genus as it was recently made a junior synonym of Phlogiellus. I would expect the spider you have to be something that was originally sold as a Yamia species.
