Not only are there a lot of members in this forum, but many of them are among the elite of enthusiasts.

I am tempted to say that the major reason matters are so slow about now is that those of us who have been paying attention have solved all the problems of the world, and thereby made this forum obsolete. But, then I would be assuming too much responsibility and would be putting myself into a position of being mercilessly (or mercifully) shot down in flames.

What you need to do is pose a serious question about tarantulas and see what happens!

Over the last 12 months there seems to be a big shift from Internet forums to Facebook tarantula groups, and the BTS has its own FB group which is also very good.I too hope not everyone decides to stop using this forum. As the information you can gain on here is invaluable.

A few years ago my relatives and some friends talked me into opening a Facebook account. Against my better judgement I did. Within 48 hours I had more than 100 people who wanted to be my buddy! And, half of them couldn't even spell my name right! I nuked that sucker in a heartbeat!

Now you're telling me that I need to open another such account? I'm not sure I'm going to fall for that one again. What's wrong with these forums, anyway?

Of course this site will remain!!

We had a long discussion regarding the face book side of the BTS at Sunday’s meeting and AGM. There are a few things that will be changing soon and details on this will follow shortly.

However I will say this, face book is OK it’s a social networking system, however for serious discussion and useful debate it’s about and useful and a chocolate teapot.

This Community forum and website will be and always will be the main focal point of The British Tarantula Society

Sorry. But I just wanted to say that this is GREAT news!! Personally, this forum has been both an inspiration and a fantastic learning tool for me,and I could not be where I am with regards to my treasured pets without it.The members are fantastic, and the knowledge shared by them is absolutely amazing.I'd rather wait a little while for an educated response on the forum, than waste time wading through loads of crap on Facebook.Thank you all.

Im with Mark, the forum is going nowhere. in fact plans are underway to reinvent it and get people back on here.
Lets get a campaign going to get the forum back on top....
