  • Lampropelma Violaceopes help please!

About month ago, I picked up L.Violaceopes from a show. It was in a cricket tub under a bright light in tight ball in the corner and looked around 3" mark. So i broke the rule about only healthy/happy animals but couldnt help myself. My setup is a tub 12" tall, 2" of eco earth and a big lump of round bark as a hide.
Moving the T was slow and it was very shy, when it did get moving hes near a close 5/6" and pretty sure a MM (brown in colour). He went to the water bowl and had a drink(neva seen a T drink like that before) after that hes been in his bark and only seen him out a few times. I cant get him to eat a thing I have tried everything but as soon as anything goes near him he just balls up and thats that for a few hours (also dose the same if you move his tub or shine a light in)

what I need to know is -

Am i missing anything? setup etc

I cant find anything online about them being fussy when it comes to food but do they go off there food and should I be worried?

This sound like a silly thing to ask but what do I do with him if he is a MM? what am I looking for to see if hes ready/able to breed or getting close to the end of his life ..... when buying bigger T's I go for females as they are pets and wasnt into breeding so this is new to me

    cheers
    Paul

If it is around 5-6 inches and it is brown then it is almost certainly a MM and it is very unlikely that he will eat (but worth trying) but he will drink more than normal.

This species males do not live for very long when mature. (2-3 months if you are lucky)

All you can do now is try and find someone who has a female and is willing to mate them or just wait for a month or two until he dies.
