  • Brown crickets.

Hi every one this is my first post. I have three T ,a brazilean white knee,a mexicon red knee and a Chilean rose.
My question is I was away for a couple of days for work and when I came back the brown crickets food banana had gone of,and there was also some dead crickets in there as well.I have cleaned the tank ,would it be OK to feed the rest of the live crickets to my Ts
    Thanks

I've had this happen before what I did was give it a few days and feed the crickets another item of food and let them pass that should be okay anyway I has happend once and I have 12 ts and none had any effects from this and tbh most dead crickets were killed by the other crickets I've found countless time in a tank with food a half eaten cricket or one with out a head or any legs or bottom half so they tbh could have killed one another

Banana isnt the best of foods as you have discovered

A dry food like fishflakes, pond pellets (both can be bought cheaply) are an ideal food with carrots as a source of moisture.
Carrots are cheap to buy and do not go mouldy like fruits and most vegetables.
You can also use bug gel as moisture for the crickets but NOT for the tarantulas. This is extremely cheap if bought as crystals (£5 will last you a few years) from ebay or some online shops.

I've always found lettuce to be a good cricket food, they will go through a couple of leaves within an hour and it's full of moisture to.
