  • B. smithii: Pre-moult?

My smithii's bald spot on her abdomen is now black. But only when i look down on it straight down.

If I look at the bald spot from the side, it doesn't look as black, if that makes any sense. The t itself is mostly inactive for a very large portion of the day, moving only slightly every 2 days or so.

I can assume my t is in pre-moult, yes? She has refused food for a good 2-3 weeks already, and is 5.5 inches in length. The confusing thing is, a few days ago she was next to the water dish when it was being filled, and she very clearly pounced on the dish, much in the same way she pounces on her food.

    Any comments on this?

If it's starting to be tinged black, then it isn't far anyway from a moult.

For reference, here is a pic of my pre-moult genic.

Moulted 4 days after that.. but was only 4" legspan at the time, so could be a lot longer for a large smithi
And he piled upon the whale's white hump, the sum of all the rage and hate felt by his whole race. If his chest had been a cannon, he would have shot his heart upon it.
