Hi every one , Ihave had my Beachypelma Smithi for a couple of months now ,and i am having trouble keeping the humidity up.
It has the coconut substrait and i am using the little humidity dial from the pet shops ,since it has got warmer the humidity drops to 40%.
Should i be alarmed maybe change the substrait.

    Hi David

First . .Throw the humidity dial in the bin because they are totally inaccurate and are worse than useless.

Second . . Forget all about humidity, forget that you ever even heard of the term. Put it out of your mind.

Third . . As long as the B smithi has a small water bowl it will be fine. A dry substrate is OK for this species. No misting or spraying is wanted or needed.

Fourth . . . Thats it, nothing special as these are a very easy species to keep.

Totally agree with peter the brachypelma Smithi is a very hardy tarantula and they do not need high humidity
