C. Marsalli?

Hi
I'm pretty new to the world of tarantulas so was hoping you could help.

I just bought a c.marsalli s'ling. Anyway I thought they were meant to be burrowing spiders, but the first thing this ones done is make itself a massive web.

Does this sound right or have I received something else?

I have several of these and have found that it will depend on the depth of the substrate if they will web up or burrow. Some of mine burrowed immediately and others webbed the surface of the substrate which then spread out until the tub was completely covered. After a while both groups did both and now at 3 inches both groups are indistinguishable from each other.

Thanks for your reply. That's really interesting behaviour. I asked the question because different species need different care. It's good to know I don't have to worry about that
