  • Live plants?

    Hi guys,

I'm thinking about using live plants in some of my enclosures for those that require high humidity.

For those of you that use live plants in your enclosures, which plants do you use and what are the benefits?

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

Asplenium Nidus, i used them in a couple of tanks. Easy to keep but need trimming as they can get quite big

Sorry Pete, I seem to have missed your reply.

I've just acquired a T.blondi and have been reading up on the benefits on using live plants as they provide humidity and oxygen. I'm also thinking of using them in some of my arboreal tanks.

I've gone for a Chlorophytum 'Ocean' and Epipremnum aureum. Going well so far. Out of interest, why do you say they are a pain?

I'm sure "they are so worth the pain" is what you meant.

. . . . cos they are growing so much and need either cutting back or separating /thinning out.
The light unit broke last sept and i havent bothered to replace it and the plants are still growing like triffids

These are my tanks (some still uninhabited).
But it's true what Peter Roach said. There is much more work with plants than there is with spiders
