Hi all, I would like to know how posting of slings are handled in different countries. In South Africa it is unlawful to post live animals, but it is a widely practised procedure between sellers and breeders. It does unfortunately sometimes lead to conflict, but losses are actually quite rare, because well packed and isolated slings are really quite hardy. Once during a postal services strike I had to wait two and half weeks before receiving my much anticipated parcel of rare slings. They were in perfect health and showed no sign whatsoever of any stress, although the same could not be said for my own state of mind.

Is it legal there to post them by mail? Is there a different way of packaging and sending? Do you make use more of courier services, to avoid postage problems? Here they are mostly sent counter to counter for collection, packed in medicine(pills) vials and boxed with newspaper or other bubble-type shock absorbing materials.

Generally people use the next day delivery service (RMSD) which is guaranteed to be delivered before 1pm the day after posting (or your money back)
