  • Tarantula being naughty again

    Hi everyone,

My Mexican Red Knee female juvenile moulted about three weeks ago. She's munched through three crickets since then. However, she decided to dump the remains of the cricket in the far corner of the tank underneath the shelter of silk fiscus plants. Whenever I try and get the remains, she starts flicking hairs at me. What should I do? Should I just wait?

    Thanks in advance,

    ~Chris

    Hey,

Perhaps it's time to invest in some longer tweezers?

Otherwise just try and move the remains nearer to you with a long thin piece of wood (something like a kebab skewer?). Have you tried feeding again to distract her?

Obviously the longer you leave it the more chance there is of it becoming a problem. Although I guess you don't have the humidity high enough for the decomposition to occur too quickly?
