Not as slings, but Lee at www.thespidershop.co.uk does have some nice sub/adults in.

You've got to know what you're doing with this sp. though as they can be a handful!!!

yer ive seen Lee`s i buy off him a bit, he`s a good dealer im ordering a few other species this week off him but really after spiderlings I get more enjoyment out of seeing them grow from spiderlings into the big beasts they turn into

I know how you feel Barry. I put mine in her new tank a week or so ago. She ate a cricket, dug a hole, webbed over the top of it and I haven't seen her since! No doubt she'll surface in a couple of weeks time as something bigger than what went in, but when both my other burrowing tarantulas have done the same thing I wonder if it was something I said! Typical.

dug one last hole, she webbed lightly over it and is now sitting in it,( more of a depression now) not as stroppy as when she first came , which is good. would feel better if she hid away, keep reading a lividum you can see is unhappy.

Yay got some H.Lividums at long last, they were a little chilly on arrival and had stopped moving but after a few hours in my snake tank soon got aggressive and started moving again, I have now carefully (dodging fangs) put them in their new homes

mine are the same barry they where very aggressive and attempted to repeatedly bite me whilst i was rehousing them, they have calmed down a bit now but just pace up and down the tank, none have attempted to burrow, how are you heating yours? with a heatmat, lamp or both?

Looks like i spoke to soon, 2 out of the 3 started to make burrows last night, ive posted what i can Barry but im using my phone and some images it doesnt let me post on here for some reason but ive posted them on my site if you wish to view them at:- http://www.spidersfromtheweb.co.uk/gallery.html
I know your not supposed to use heatmats directly under your tank but they seem to leave their burrow and go roaming if i dont warm them that way, any other suggestions?

heatmat on side of tank, she has now switched side of tank, and is sitting in a hollow on right side away from where she dropped her eggs, not attempting to burrow yet.

                              heatmats

Try putting the heat mat under one half of the tank. That way she can keep warm but if it gets too hot she'll move to the other side. By watching her behaviour with this you'll know if the mat's thermostat needs adjusting as well. Mine still hasn't resurfaced. Checked on saturday on the underside of her tank and there's a shed skin at the bottom of her burrow though, so I'm expecting her to re-surface at the weekend. As for your lividium Barry, if she's eating and drinking and her living conditions are right (temp 27-30), (humidity 75-80) I wouldn't worry. Mine used to sit outside her burrow all day (unless disturbed) like a Selenocosmia before she moved to this tank and began moulting. What substrate are you using? That might have something to do with it. I use plain topsoil for mine, I know there is a question of mould growing but its what they have in the wild and a bit more maintenance means a bit more time with my tarantulas.
