  • T. blondi Molt

I love the miracle of a moult. I have 8 Theraphosa and one of my semi beat up, dehydrated rescue T. blondi just make it through her molt and she looks FANTASTIC. I do want to share this with you. Sometimes it amazes me the tarantula waiting for you under the old skin. I will take more when she is fully hardened up. Here is the story of Ratty Sue the Theraphosa blondi, when I brought her home to freshly moulted.

    5-6” female T. blondi – “Ratty Sue”

As you can see her abdomen is not in the best shape.

    The moult itself.

Everything is there….pumping stomach, esophagus and with this shot easily you can see she is a girl in the half moon flap between the upper book lungs.

    The business side…fangs etc.

Now for the good stuff!!! Here she is…deep dark smooth chocolate. Boy is she ever pretty now! She showed us. Interesting thing she did not get a whole lot bigger…perhaps she just really needed a molt..

Up close of her lovely face and eyes. I think Anette is right…she will need a new name. Nothing at all ratty about her.

If only I could work such miracles with my appearance by moulting my skin!

                  Lol!

It's crazy to see what a difference it makes though isn't it?

Thanks everyone. I just love the miracle of molting and I am particularly proud of this girl.

I have an A. genic molt as well that I photojournaled. Perhaps I will post that as well.
