  • T. puriens - Peruvian green velvet

    Just shed today

The exhuvium is 5½" legspan, it'll be interesting to see how much bigger it is now.

I just got one of these yesterday. Tiny little thing spent most of the day subduing a maggot, though the spider won in the end. Now its a fat tiny little thing. Thanks for the picture to remind me what I'm looking forward to.

Is that the final colouration Dave, or do the markings on the legs get more vivid when mature adult. Had a look on the net for piccies but the images are mostly too dark (and some a little unfocused) to tell.
        anyway a nice looking spider.

Not sure Colin, we all know how the colours alter on these beasties according to how the light catches them, i'll leaver her(?) in peace for a few days then get some more pics.

i have three slings, and they're already starting to look interesting. greenish abdomen and pale red carapace, with dark grey legs! this is at just over a cm

Hi Dave, just reminded myself of what my spider will look like. They're still beautiful. The males tend to be more green than the females, or so I gather as I've only seen an adult male before. All the best
