Any idea on what this is? Found at an elevation of 4,000 ft. in CA. I'm sure it is Aphonopelma. The pics make it have a light black color to it, with the naked eye, it is as dark, if not darker than a pulchra. Shes great though.

This T was collected in Fresno County, CA in an area slated for development. Not sure of exact elevation but it was in the vicinity of one of those sprawling mountain cities. I believe they are A. iodus but not sure. Whatever they are, maybe call them California changeables? I was sure surprised when she molted out jet black from her original blonde color! This has been rehashed several times in several threads but it is thought to be A. iodus. I think these ones should still be kept seperately though.
The plan is, is that when summertime roles around, he's going to try and collect some males in the exact same spot for breeding, and possibly send a few to Brent for his research.
I'm starting to believe it is Aphonopelma eutylenum, but who knows.
