I've only had the GBB about two weeks. It spends most of its time up the top of the tank at the moment. When I first had it it spun a lot of web. They like to have lots of web. Mine is greedy and will take a cricket almost the same size as itself. They say they are very nervous and skittish. Mine moves really fast when it wants to!
Hey Jason, the GBB are pretty cool spiders.
Definetely worth having one if you ask me.
This is one spider that will not hide alot. It will be in plain sight pretty much all the time which is a great bonus.
Has got great colours. Does not need alot of heat or any added moisture(likes it 40-60%).
I would not trust my finger next to it as it is fast but it won't go darting about unless you spook it either. It's a great feeder, I can highly recommend you watch some GBB feeding vids on youtube and you will get a good idea.
I couldn't ever get myself an arboreal spider, they need big enclosures so this is the nearest compromise as GBB's are semi arboreal and like a branch to climb on.
The webs it makes are really interesting and it will always stand out in your collection.
