I can guarantee that it won't stay that little and cute for long, it'll be big and "handsome looking" before you know it.
They grow quite nicely and put on some lovely growth spurts.
Feeding won't be a problem either as they have quite a voratious appetite and can take on a food item quite big in comparrison to their size.
Hope you enjoy bringing this one up as much i have mine.
Don't forget to learn what you can, when you can, where you can.
Yes, I'm sure I will enjoy bringing them both up. I've enjoyed bringing up my little b.smithi and he's still tlny. I saw the mum of them and she looks lovely!
Congrats. Like Colin says they grow quick. Mine has gone from just under 1 cm to about 3.5 cm in three moults, since January. Very fun spiders, I just bought another one yesterday cos I liked my first so much.
heehee, that is tiny!
Smaller than mine when I first got em.
They do seem to go through a growth spurt but only after 6 months + or so.
The nhandu in my 4 month growth thread had just gone through his but I have got 2 more that were alot younger that are about to start theirs now.
They haven't grown half as much in the same time yet. If you ask me it's something like 6months to 1 year to reach 1cm, then 6 months to reach 4 cm which is quite a growth spurt.
But then again maybe I just had an exceptionally good grower.
Thanks Kate Wow, that is a fast growth rate! Yours got any markings on it yet?
Yep. It has its black legs and white knees, and with its last moult it got the red hairs on its abdomen. It still has an overall pinkish look and its carapace hasn't started going black yet. But it's getting there. Another couple of moults and it will start to look like a little miniature adult. I tried to get a photo yesterday but it is a bit quick getting back in its hole when I take the lid off its pot, even when tempted with a cricket, so this is the best I got
Well, s/he must have heard me complaining because last night s/he sat out and let me take some proper pics. I was wrong about the size, it's only 3cm not 3.5. But here you go this is what yours will look like in 3 or 4 moults
