You're shopping in the wrong places.

But, yeah. I've noticed too. I suppose it's down to mark-ups for the bricks-and-mortar middle men.
I have my eye on a nice, big Pterinochilus lugardi in my regular exotics shop (I think it's P. lugardi. It's called a 'Fort Hill Baboon' and it's grey, anyway. I'll have to ask). I wonder if the owner'll kick me out for being a cheeky sod, if I ask about putting down a deposit.

That, or try to get across the water and look for one in May. And maybe a cheap T. blondi, too...

If your looking for one - I would wait until the show, where you may pick up a bargain. I am on the look out for a number of Juvenile spiders and slings but personally I am waiting for the show as I know I could pick up a bargain or two. Last year I was delighted, I picked up a H.lividum sling £3, Versicolor Sling £3.50, G.aureostriata £2. Plus a good number of others, it was bargains galore. This year I am taking £200 with me! And as a bonus to the bargains, my 2 sons loved the day out too.

You can take the man out of Yorkshire - but not the Yorkshire out of the man!!
West Yprkshire man myself! Have to say that BTS show is great for prices. I was there last year and first time. Will take more this time in cash this time round and aim to get some more juvs rather than slings.

thats good for a juvenile, be sure to have a nice warm setup waiting though for when they arrive, this weather really gets to them whilst in transit, I got 3 lovely P.Lividums that where a bit chilly when they arrived but nothing a few hours in the snake tank couldnt sort out before later carefully (dodging fangs) transferring them into their new homes.

                    T. blondi

I don't mean to sound like an idiot here and I know (much to my shame) little about L. parahybanas, but in terms of size I thought the T. apophysis was the largest spider in the world (so far). Also could someone give me an idea of what type of living conditions these creatures need please? I'd love to keep one or two but not unless I can give it the right environment for it to be happy. I know a little from a BTS journal issue a few months back but all additional info would be very welcome.
