  • New member intro

    Greetings All,

I'm a new member to this forum and still in the early learning stage. I plan on purchasing my first tarantula once I feel properly prepared which shouldn't be too far in the future. In the meantime I'll read your postings and look forward to the day when I know enough to ask questions here.

Cheers from Foster, RI in the States

    Bill

Hi Bill, you're doing the right thing, so many people don't prepare themselves fully for the commitment of keeping Tarantulas.

    Nice to meet you

      Hi Bill

Huge welcome to the forum. You will get all the help you need here. I did exactly what you are doing made sure I was well read and prepared before getting my first T.

I love every minute of my new hobby, have a G.Rosea she is adult, and a B.Bohemi sling who has just moulted. I'd love to get some more but my husband is still recovering from the first two. (give it awhile and I'll sneek another couple in he he).

Let us know when you get your first T and then you can post some pics for us.

          Welcome

Hi Bill, welcome to the forum. Barbara, if your husband dislikes you keeping spiders, put a nice big picture of the fiercest tarantula you know on the bedroom wall and tell him it stays there until he gives in and agrees to some more, on the condition you won't get one of them!
sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!

Appreciate your welcoming. Harry, my radio shack was struck by lightning so have been off air for a while. Good luck with your exam.

                      Hello Harry,

Thankfully I was not in the shack at the time, however, I and one of our dogs was in the garage when it struck, besides hearing the loud crack I felt the static and the dog's hair stood up on end. She flew out of the house through the doggie door and was gone for over an hour. Talk about a 'bad hair day'!

                      Cheers,
                      Bill

                          Hello Scott,

Please explain or describe what a starter kit is. I'm assuming it's items that came along with your T such as tank/box, water dish, etc??
