I have it on very good authority (and have confirmed it with people working within the postal sevice) that the sorting offices are dealing with the current post as their priority, but also delivering a small portion of the backlog at the same time.

The latest estimate (from the horse's mouth so to speak) is that it could be two weeks before the backlog is entirely cleared, so don't hold your breath folks

i hope nobody ordered any T's through the post...they may not survive the trip! and despite it being the union's fault, i doubt we can sue them for dead pets.

Still no journal. Was told by by my local post office that all was back to normal today! Hope the spider I have on the way is safe!

Trying to trace this mail is like pulling teeth. If I want to claim it as lost mail I have to fill a separate form in for each item and then post it to Royal Mail. The form is three pages long. Heres hoping it arrives soon . I can get no sense from the Royal Mail helpline.

We run a mail order company Ray, and believe me, Royal Mail customer services are absolutely useless. We've come to the conclusion that there's little point in contacting them.

They also won't entertain anything as 'lost' until at least 15 working days past the posting date

I think you'll find that Royal Mail are too busy making sure all the contracted mail gets to our doors first. Because I'm getting plenty of advertisements for credit cards and other rubbish with no apparent problems. I've ordered T's and those I ordered from didn't send anything until the special delivery was gauranteed again. I had some T's last week arrive ok, and I'm expecting some more next week. As for the journal. I won't expect it just yet.
