Chicken spider?

Any more progress on the 'Chicken spider' slings? It seems the earth has opened up & swallowed up everyone involved . I don't get responses from anyone on pm's or e-mails about it.....

i think there's a certain amount of doubt on the subject...it also doesn't help that the Pamphobeteus genus is a mess!
i'm sure we'll get there eventually. if i understood everything, the spiders have been observed in the wild living and eating together, to some degree.

have to say though...from what i've heard of Hysterocrates spp, they behave quite similarly. maybe they don't drag chickens into their dens, but they do live and feed together quite often. one of the "provably" more social genera, though Holothele spp and Heterothele spp are also possibly like this as well.

it's possible Heterothele aren't that sociable, it was just a theory based on success with Holothele (unless i've got them mixed up lol)

on a side note, Phil...if you DO have success, i'd love to buy slings off you

Slings is a bit too far in the future at the moment. Still, I have two mature females (the male is on loan, so half the slings if any ever appear will be the owner of the male's), so I suppose there's a chance that one of them will oblige!

All being well, he's being sent on from me to visit another female, so he could produce some slings there too

Sorry James, I didn't realise that's what you meant. I have read that thread from start to finish, and I for one am giving Craig the benefit of the doubt. I just want a sling or 3 from him and I'll wait and see how they go together. I want as many Pampho species as I can lay my hands on
